Alexandria Muhammad has taken about 15 classes since starting November 22nd. That’s an avg. of 5 classes a week. You go girl!

Here is what she has to say “I’m from New York. I started practicing yoga because I wanted to have a practice that would help me stay grounded. I have a bad habit of being in my head too much, with a million and one anxious thoughts spinning in my head that would eventually present itself in my physical body.

I felt so tense all the time! I decided to be more intentional about having a daily yoga practice, and since then I’ve slowly begun to loosen up and feel more at ease in my body and mind. I can’t wait to learn more and get deeper into the practice!

Meet Briah, your Monday evening Vinyasa Teacher- “Yoga is everything to me. Yoga is what has been the most prevalent tool in guiding back to my true self.

Yoga and my daughter are the only 2 things to finally help me love myself and see the purpose in this experience here, and spreading this ancient art and practice that has transformed and elevated my life in the way it has, is a huge part of that purpose.

Through teaching the style of vinyasa yoga it’s my goal to have every student feeling more connected to their breath, bodies, and ultimately themselves after every class.

Something to Think About

Savasana is that signature pose at the conclusion of every yoga practice. And if you’re anything like most of us, then you’re guilty of slipping out of class to carry on with your busy life the moment the teacher instructs you into it.

An interesting fact about yoga is that Savasana, also known as the Corpse Pose, is a pose of ultimate relaxation, which is why it is so difficult for many of us to release into the pose. While in Savasana, your “goal” is to be still which can be the hardest thing for us to do; encouraging your body to de-stress and return to its natural state as a human being and not a human doing.

Being still allows our body to cement the effects of our yoga practice while processing and remembering the information it needs.

Surrender might be the number one most mysterious aspect of spirituality.

Although it seems like the easiest thing to do (I mean, it is literally letting go, right?), more often than not we find ourselves puzzled by what it looks like in real life.
